This is an exceedingly rare pair of Leedy model no. 630 yarn wound marimba mallets with hickory shafts. These mallets were produced by Leedy in the 1920's when hickory shafts were still being used for keyboard percussion mallets. This model is 1 1/2" balls covered in tightly wound yarn. They are useful on vibraphone or marimba. This pair is in near perfect condition. The yarn shows little signs of wear. The tapered hickory shafts are slightly warped but are not chipped or split. The only blemish is noticeable wear to the Leedy decals on each shaft. The script Leedy brand is clear but much of each decal has chipped off. This incredibly rare pair of mallets will make a nice addition to any mallet collection.
