A personal drum of Fred Hinger this is a great example of a 1936 Leedy Broadway parallel. The drum has a label with Mr. Hingers’ name (Fred D. Hinger) attached to the side of the drum. It also has a Calf head tucked by Mr. Hinger dated 12/19/69. The snares are individually adjustable Hinger yellow cable. The drum has a heater plate attached on the butt side of the drum shell typical of drums from this era. Also typical of this model drum, the top snare assembly is missing. These top mechanisms were frequently removed years ago by players because they either rattled, were of no use and in the way or just did not work well as the snares became stretched and made excessive noise. This is a great sounding drum with great sensitivity and attractive because was a drum personally owned and used by Fred Hinger.
