Product Code: TRE123Beautiful and rare Leedy nickel over brass cuckoo sound effect. As shown in the attached 1920 Leedy catalog, this metal whistle is constructed from a brass tube measuring 4 1/2" in length by 1 1/2" in diameter. The whistle produces two pitches controled by the small hole in the whistle barrel. The higher pitch is produced with the hole in the whistle barrel uncovered. Covering the hole causes the whistle to produce a lower pictch. Going back and forth between the two pitches produces a cuckoo bird sound effect. The nickel plating is in good condition and the whistle produces a bright clear cuckoo imitation. This sound effect will make a rare addition to a vintage Leedy outfit or sound effect collection.
