Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This tambourine is nice example of a vintage tambourine, we attribute to Leedy, with a birdseye maple shell and upper reinforcing ring against the head. The rare 11" diameter shell and 14 pairs of original jingles were cleaned years ago. A new calfskin head was recently installed using the original head tacks so it has many years of playing in it. The tambourine had limited use over the years as evidenced from the minimal marks in the wood from the jingles hitting against the shell slots. This is an excellent sounding vintage tambourine for use or a display with your vintage kit.
