Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
Here is a vintage 10” single row tambourine with a birds eye maple shell. This is an older tambourine perhaps from the 1930s that we atrribute to Leedy. There is no maker's mark on the instrument. It has 12 pair of jingles, solid birds eye maple shell, new calf skin head installed with original tacks, reinforcing ring and wood grip on the inside of the shell. It has one extra ¼” hole drilled through one of the panels probably made in order to mount the tambourine on a cymbal stand. This is a very nice example of on early tambourine with a great vintage sound.
