This is a rare, fully reconditioned, 4”x14” solid maple shell Super Ludwig from the 1920s that sounds fantastic. When this drum was acquired, the shell was stripped to the bare maple. The shell was then repainted black and used for many years in an orchestral setting. The badge was removed for painting purposes but reinstalled using the original grommet. All parts are original to the drum with the exception of the reproduction snare guards and snares. The snares were rebuilt with a combination of 4 gut and 6 wire which gives the drum superior sensitivity and added power for a 4” drum. There are no extra holes in the shell which is in round allowing modern heads to fit easily. This is a great opportunity to add a hard to find solid maple shell, 4”x14” ten tube lug drum to your collection.
