This is a beautiful 1930s Ludwig & Ludwig 6 ½”x14”, chrome plated, Super Sensitive snare drum. It is all original including the original fitted case, wire wound silk snares, heads, rim clips, snare guards and tone-control. We date this drum between 1932 and 1935 for the following reasons. It is a one-piece shell, chrome plated with an original tone-control. All these features date the drum to the 1930s and the tone control dates the drum between 1932 and 1935. This drum is in near mint condition. There are no distracting blemishes or missing chrome plating and only the most observant inspector will notice some slight scratches in the plating. This drum is truly a museum piece but is also very playable. This drum was, in fact, used with a symphony orchestra for many years. The upper snares are intact and operate as originally intended. The original individually adjustable wire wound silk bottom snares are also completely intact and usable. The top original Ludwig calf head is still in good playing condition. The original bottom calf head has a very small split at the rim edge but does not affect the use of the head. It is all but impossible to find another drum from this period in this condition. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a truly rare, fabulous sounding drum.
