This is a beautiful, all original Ludwig & Ludwig separate tension bass drum with DeLuxe gold hardware. As shown in the 1927 catalog pages, the model no. 105, 14" x 28" bass drum was Ludwig's top of the line and most popular size bass drum from the era. It has a mahogany aero-kraft shell with maple reinforcement rings and twelve, tube lugs with timpani handle tuning. This drum is finished in white marine pearl wrap with wmp inlaid, gold painted counter hoops.The combination of the white marine pearl wrap , DeLuxe gold hardware and gold counter hoops is unique and beautiful. This bass drum comes complete with an original Ludwig painted front head and calf batter head. The painted head is in nice condition with its original Ludwig decal but it does have a circular cutout that impacts the scene. The interior of the drum has a pair of lights and the original Ludwig Aero Kraft paper tag. The white marine pearl wrap is still bright and in perfect condition. The deluxe gold hardware has a nice patina with some plating wear. Everything about this drum is original and in perfect working order. It will make a great small concert bass drum or as the foundation for a unique period outfit.
