This is a beautifully preserved pair of Ludwig model 8-725 bell and xylophone mallets from the 1930's in mint condition. As shown in the attached 1940 Ludwig catalog, the model 8-725 mallets have oversized 1 1/8" hard rubber heads and rattan shafts. This pair of mallets is in like new condition with no chips in the heads and no issues in the rattan shafts. Both mallets have virtually straight shafts and a clear black ink Ludwig brand on each shaft. This perfectly balanced pair of mallets sounds great on either a xylophone or glockenspiel and will provide a unique addition to any collection of vintage mallets.
