This is a mid-1960's, Ludwig, 3”x13” “Jazz-Combo” model snare drum. This is a nice all original (except for the snares) drum in Blue/Gold/Blue lacquer finish. The finish has a few scuffs and marks but is in very good overall condition. The nickel plated hardware including NOS (nickel over steel) over steel rims and Pioneer throw-off is in very good condition. This drum is date stamped Dec. (10?, the ink is smeared a bit but it appears to be 10) 1965. The original heads are still in good condition and playable. Unfortunately the snares were thrashed and no longer functional or useable so they have been replaced with newer wires. These wooden shell 3”x13” drums sound great and are very sensitive. The wood versions of the 3”x13” “Jazz-Combo” model snare drums are much harder to find than the metal versions making this a very good opportunity for someone to acquire a rare drum.
