This is a beautiful example of an early 1930's Ludwig Universal, 5" x 14" nickel over brass snare drum. As shown in the 1933 Ludwig catalog, it has all of its original parts in excellent condition. The parts include a pioneer throw off, wire wound silk snares, no flange nickel over steel "Universal" stamped rims, 6 tube lugs, original tension rods butt plate and a light weight single piece nickel over brass shell. All of the hardware is in excellent working condition. There are some light scratches in the nickel plating but no dings or rusted parts. This great sounding drum will make the perfect addition to a vintage drum collection or working drummer's outfit.
