This is a terrific Ludwig & Ludwig Nickel Over Brass (NOB) Ludwig Super Sensitive model snare drum from the 1920's. It has the heavy 2-piece solid brass shell that have made these drums and their sound production legendary. This is the same type of shell that Ludwig used for many years and snare models including the black beauty from this era. This drum is the Super Sensitive model that is missing the top snare mechanism. The original holes remain in the shell for the new owner to mount an upper mechanism. The shell is in great overall condition with no concerning dents or dings, no extra holes, and is in round. All of the hardware is original to the drum including the snare mechanism and ten tube lugs. The rim clips are steel, rather than the more common brass rim clips. The original, individually adjustable wire snares are in good condition but are missone of the ten original wires. We can offer other snare options if desired. This is a great opportunity to own a legendary snare drum that will sound great in any setting.
