Beautiful, as found, Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum with a heavy nickel over brass (NOB) shel in terrific, all original, condition. Ludwig introduced the Super-Sensitive model in 1929. This drum has a two-piece shell, with no internal muffler and block letter "SupperSensitive" stamp on the bottom rim, dating this drum between 1930 - 32. This drum comes complete with all original parts including snare guards, upper snares and mechanim and all the original extension arms and thumb screws. It is rare to find one of these drums in this condition with completely original parts. The nickel plating on all the original parts is in great condition. There is some slight, normal plating loss on the extension arms and tension rods. There is one tiny dent where one of the ten tube lugs is mounted on the shell. Te bottom snares are original individually adjustable Ludwig wires. Both the top and bottom mechanism work perfectly. These drums have a legendary sound and this drum is no exception. You won't find a more versatile drum combining sensitivity with real carrying power due to the combination of the parallel mechanism and heavy brass shell. Every serious player should own one of these drums in their collection.
