This is Ludwig 3”x13” piccolo snare drum from the 1970's. This is an expertly repaired, very serviceable player’s drum that sounds great and functions perfectly. We have never seen a 3”x13” vintage Ludwig piccolo snare drum with a metal shell where the lugs have not failed. The same problem has occurred with this drum. The issue has been addressed by tapping the lugs deeper and adding washers, lock washers and longer hex head cap screws to prevent the nipples on the lugs to break under pressure. There are scratches in the shell from when the lugs failed prior to the fix. Also, in its history someone has rubbed out the serial numbers on the badge and some identifying marks above the badge. The badge has one corner clipped off. In addition, the throw-off has had bushings added that bring it out from the shell farther allowing the throw-off to work more efficiently. If you are looking for a great metal shell Ludwig piccolo snare drum to add to your toolbox, this is it.
