Mid 1960s Ludwig 6 ½” x 14” Super Sensitive model snare drum. This Ludwig model and size drum ais hard to find and this one is in great condition with a great sound. The Gut-wire combination snares are ideal for orchestral applications. The wire makes the drum quite sensitive while the gut gives the drum more bite and volume. This drum has a 5 digit serial number (although the number is hard to see due to wear to the badge) putting it in the mid 60s. It has brass rims top and bottom but not a brass shell. There is a little “foxing” of the finish on the lugs and shell, but no actual pitting. This is a very nice example of a mid 60s Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum.
