Vintage 1971 6 1/2" x 14" Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum. This all original drum has its original paper tag inside with a August 5, 1971 date stamp. The serial number on the pointed blue and olive badge is 842xxx which is consistent with a 1971 manufacture date. All original parts throughout are in excellent condition. The chrome plating on the shell is strong with no flaking or significant pitting. There are a few scratches but they do not detract from the overall excellent appearance of the drum. The original Ludwig logo super sensitive snare mechanism works smoothly. The bottom wire snares are original Ludwig logo snares designed for this drum. There is one strand missing making 23 curly wire strands in all. The top and bottom rims are also in excellent condition. The original snare guards are attached to the bottom rim and are also in very good condition. This is the famous Ludwig Ludalloy shell of John Bonham fame. It's hard to find this size drum from this era still in all original and excellent condition. This is the perfect addition to any 1970's - 80's Ludwig outfit as well as a nice drum for the concert stage.
