This is a nice 27 ½” oil painted bass drum head. Although this scene is not found in any Ludwig catalog, the painting style appears to be like the factory heads, which suggests this head could have been a special request. A special request scene was something offered in the catalogs. There is minimal paint loss around the edge where the head stretched over the shell of the drum and there is one small split at the edge of the flesh hoop. This is a very attractive head that will fit a 27 ½” bass drum shell and add a unique finishing touch to any 20s/30s vintage outfit.
