Beautiful early 1930's Ludwig rooster crow imitation. As shown in the attached 1932 Ludwig catalog, this rooster crow imitation is made of seamless nickel plated brass. Made by the Ward company of England, this whistle is one of a set of imitations made for the Ludwig & Ludwig drum company in the 1930s. The Ward whistles also appear in the Leedy catalogs from the same period. Our Ludwig rooster crow imitation sounds terrific and is in excellent condition. Over 8" in length and with an oversized 7/8" diameter brass tube. A rooster crow imitation was a standard trap for the pit drummers of the early 20th century. This is a must have imitation for any period collection or vintage drum outfit.
