Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This is a rare Barry Drum Company "Perfection Gourd" with its original wire brush in mint condition.. The instrument is a hollow, mahogany wood box with a slot at the bottom to allow the sound to project. There is a stiff wire spring mounted into the top of the top of the box that produces a guiro like sound when it is scraped with the provided stiff wire brush. This instrument is in mint condition and still sounds great. There are mounting holes on the bottom so the instrument can be mounted on a standard woodblock mount from the era making this a practical trap for the performer or collector.
