This is a fine example of one of the most unique vintage American made drums of the 20th century. It is the Duplex, Spirit of St, Louis model snare drum with a 7" deep shell with 13" heads mounted over a 14" shell. This is the Duplex version of the "Black Beauty" finish with a blackened brass shell and gold rims, rim clips, and tension rods. This drum is completely original with the exception of the modern heads. The blackened shell is in very good condition with the brass showing through in one panel. There are no dents or extra holes. This particular drum does not have an internal muffler. This drum will be one of the stars of any vintage drum collection.
