Great early 20th century Sanitary "Rooster" imitation. As shown in the attached early Dixie Music House catalog, this rooster imitation produces a convincing rooster crow. Made of nickel plated brass with a wooden mouth piece and original metal cover. The whistle is 4 3/4" in length when covered and has "rooster" stamped in the tube. The tube diameter is 5/8" and is in excellent condition. There is some slight discoloration of the nickel plating but it is in excellent condition overall. A rooster crow imitation was a standard trap for the pit drummers of the early 20th century. This is a must have imitation for any period collection or vintage drum outfit.
