This is a great example of a late 1940's - 1950 Premier Royal Ace snare drum. This model from Premier has a parallel strainer with wire snares and pearl wrap. The beautiful butterscotch color of this wrap appears to be the original color rather than a faded white marine pearl. The color is consistent all around the drum, even under the lugs and mounts. We have not found a record of a butterscotch pearl offered by Premier so if this is a mellowed white marine pearl, it has mellowed evenly. All of the chrome plating is in excellent condition and all parts work perfectly. There are a few tiny cracks along the grain of the wrap around the butt plate but there is no loose wrap. This is an excellent and beautiful example of an early Premier Royal Ace snare drum.
