Here is a rare, beautiful, 1935 Slingerland Broadcaster snare drum in white marine pearl. This is one of the unicorns of vintage Slingerland snare drums. The forerunner to the later Radio Kings, the Broadcasteer model was only made for one year during 1934-35 before it was discontinued as a result of a naming dispute with the Gretsch company. The drum has a clear Slingerland Broadcaster logo stamped into the top rim. The all original hardware includes single pad muffler, tapped streamling lugs, early Radio King style three point strainer, cloud badge, adjustable bridges, and original spring controlled snare wires. The chrome plating is in very good overall condition with very few areas where the brass is showing through. The white marine pearl wrap is in excellent condition with a modest amount of yellowing. The bridge on the butt side of the drum is slightly bent but it is hardly noticeable and does not affect th functioning of the snares. The solid, one-piece steam bent shell is also in perfect condition with no signs of separation at the reinforcement rings. A lightly penciled maker's mark "chrome" is still visible on the inside of the shell indicating that the drum has chrome plating. This is a rare drum in rare, unmolested condition that will make the perfect addition to any collection.
