Beautiful 1940s, 7”x14” (7 ¼”x14”) Slingerland Radio King snare drum. When this drum came to us it was missing most of the original paint but all of the original hardware was present. The shell has been nicely repainted for us in the original two-tone, black/gold pattern by Adam Kozie. The hardware was cleaned and the drum put back together. There are no issues with the 16 beavertail lugs with no cracks or splits. The nickel plating overall is in very good condition. The snares are original 20 strand Slingerland snares that have been attached using modern plastic straps rather than the original metal straps, which were missing from the snares. The throw-off is a little tight when engaging and disengaging the snares which is typical of this era throw-off. This is the quintessential solid maple, steam bent shell collectors look for in Radio King models. The drum has no extra holes and is complete with the originalaluminum badge dating it to the 1940s. This is a very nice example of a hard to find, Radio King snare in excellent condition. Don't miss out!!!
