This is an all original, as found, Slingerland student model Radio King from the early 1950's. As shown in the attached 1955 Slingerland catalog, this is the deeper shell 7" x 14", model no.157. These deep shell mahogany snare dums are reminiscent of the earlier Swing era snare drums. This example is all original except for the snare side head. All of the hardware is nickel plated and in very good to excellent condition including a three point strainer, streamline lugs, single flanged NOB hoops, black & tan Chicago badge and Slingerland logo calf batter head. There are some marks on the natural mahogany shell but it is in very good overall condition. This is a deep shell, 3-ply mahogany shell snare drum with a nice woody, fat tone at a great price.
