This is a blue and silver duco, Student Radio King snare drum from early 1959. All hardware is original including Slingerland single flange counter hoops, model no, 673 Rapid strainer, Sound King lugs and snappy snares. It's chrome plating is in excellent condition and everything is in good working order. There is an internal datestamp of January 29, 1959 visible on the natural mahogany shell. The 5 1/2" x 14", 3-ply shell includes solid maple reinforcement rings and the original "First Black and Brass" badge. The overall condition of this drum is truly excellent. There are only a few small chips in the duco finish and one missing wire from the original set of 16 wire Snappy snares. This is a great sounding example of the popular Student Radio King model frum that will make a nice addition to a vintage 50's Slingerland outfit or collection.
