Here is a classic early 1950's Slingerland Super Gene Krupa Radio King snare drum in terrific condition. Thje steam bent, solid maple shell Radio King shells are legendary vintage drums. This example has a terrific, slightly mellowed white marine pearl finish. The original hardware includes 8 streamline lugs, clamshell strainer, brass and tan Chicago badge, two pad internal muffler and beautiful nickel plated stick chopper counter hoops with Radio King engraved on the top hoop. The shell is slightly out of round and there is some slight separation in the internal reinsorcement rings. Oversized heads fit best on this drum. No rust or corrosion anywhere on the drum. There had been a non-original set of lugs mounted on the drum that have been replaced and removed with original Slingerland parts. There are some light marks in the WMP wrap from those lugs and slightly enlarged mounting holes that can only be seen when the original lugs are removed. As shown in the attached 1951 catalog, this is a great example of a Super Gene Krupa snare that will make a great player or collector snare.
