Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This is a unique giant bass ratchet from the early 19th century. We don't know the origin or maker of this ratchet but it sounds terrific. It has an oversized metal ratchet wheel that is 2 1/4" in diameter. The wooden tongues are over 7" long and 1/2" wide each. The combination produces a great, low pitched ratchet. The entire instrument is 12 3/4" long top to bottom and painted with light gold paint so it looks great on the trap table. This is a unique sound effect that will make a great addition to any collection or performaers kit bag.
