Early Ludwig & Ludwig logo water carrying bird whistle. This is a generic bird whistle that produces a warbling sound when filled with water. Used to imitate a warbling nightingale or canary. As shown in the attached 1922 catalog, this is a beautiful nickel plated brass whistle from one of the earliest Ludwig catalogs. The Ludwig & Ludwig logo is stamped in the top and on the side of the barrel. The whistle comes complete with its original metal mouthpiece cap and plug. The nickel on the whstle is in great condition. There is a tiny amount of plating loss on the cap. This is a rare, early version of this ubiquitous whistle that was made for many decades and will make a great addition to any sound effects collection or early 1920's outfit.
