Here is a vintage 1960's Ludwig model no. 89 concert castanet machine in new old stock condition with its original box. This all original set of castanets looks like it has never been played. As shown in the attached 1967 Ludwig catalog, the bakelite castanets are mounted on a rosewood base. There are small cups cut into the rosewood base under each castanet making the instrument surprisingly loud. The base also has a rubber pad glued to the bottom so the machine can be placed on a table and played with one hand. The weight of the base along with the rubber pad keep the instrument from sjipping on the table while it is played. This machine is in perfect condition without any sign of wear. The original 1960's sctip Ludwig sticker on the base is in perfect condition. The original Lydwig box is included. This is a practical sound effect and a great authentic 1960's Ludwig accessory that makes a great addition to any vintage Ludwig setup.
