This is a beautifully preserved Walberg and Auge Perfection Carry-All bass drum with a rare Leedy "Moonlight Silhouette" painted head. Walberg made these carry-all bass drums in the 1920's to allow a working drummer to carry parts of their gear inside of the bass drum. The drum shell is constructed in two-pieces with a large hinge and four clasps that allows the player to easily open up the drum to store things inside. This example is in excellent condition with all original nickel plated hardware and its original counterhoop mounted square badge. The shell measures 10" x 28" which will fit modern 28" heads. Our bass drum also includes a rare original Leedy painted calf head with a "Moonlight Silhouette" scene. The head is in excellent condition with no tears or holes. There are some small spots where the greenish background paint has chipped off but it does not detract from its overall appearance. The drum also includes flashing bass drum lights inside of the drum. These flashing lights behind the painted head create a terrific vintage effect. All of the nickel plated hardware is in excellent condition with no corrosion or pitting. This is an unusual bass drum and painted head combination that will make a great addition to any vintage drum collection or 1920's period outfit.
