This is a Leedy, 1920's model 992 George Hamilton Green model xylophone in fully restored condition. The 3 1/2 octave F-C range,  George Hamilton Green, is Leedy's most iconic xylophone that is the prefect professional quality instrument for playing anything from solo xylophone rags to orchestral repertoire. The Leedy frame design is very compact when it is disassembled making these instruments easy to move. The 1 1/2" bars are bright and cutting so the instrument can easily project through a large symphony orchestra. The model 992 is comparable to a Deagan 870 but with slightly narrower bars and a brighter, clearer tone. This instrument has been completely reconditioned. All of the insulators have been replaced. The nobby gold hardware has been cleaned, polished and lacquered to a nice luster that will last. The rails have been repainted their to their original creamy white color and the wheels have new "tires". The bars are in great shape. There is a little roughness to the tops on a couple of bars in the middle of the range but they sound great. There is one repair to one brace in the frame but it is sturdy overall. The combination of dark rosewood bars, creamy white rails, and nobby gold frame make a very attractive instrument. These early to mid-1920's George Hamilton Green models are hard to find and offer a unique combination of great sound production, portability, and flashy appearance.
