This is an exceedingly rare early Ludwig & Ludwig double cymbal holder. As shown in the 1927 Ludwig & Ludwig catalog, this double post holder mounts to a wooden bass drum head counter hoop. It's mounting foot consists of a clamp that attaches to the hoop and an adjustable rubber coated foot that rests on the bass drum shell for extra support. The double post is a single piece 3/8" nickel plated rod that attaches to the foot in two places creating a large loop extending 12" above the foot that provides an infinite number of mounting position for the two arms. The two matching cymbal cymbal suspension arms are 13 1/2" in length and can rotate 360 degrees on the posts to maximize the number of possible positions for the cymbals. All of the nickel plating is nearly flawless with only a few slightly worn spots on one of the posts. The foot has a clear early Ludwig & Ludwig stamp and its original rubber coated support. Combine this with a pair of Ludwig & Ludwig cymbal suspenders (sold separately) and your favorite period cymbals to create a centerpiece for any period outfit. Cymbals and cymbal suspenders pictured are not included but are sold separately.
