This is a beautiful mod-1950's WFL Buddy Rich super classic. As shown in the attached 1955 WFL catalog, this was the top of the line snare drum offered by WFL before merging with the Ludwig drum company. The 3-ply, 5 1/2" x 14" shell is in excellent condition. All of the nickel plated hardware is original to the drum. The only on-original piece is the throw-off extension arm which is the correct arm for the throw-off but has chrome plating. It's very hard to discern the plating difference. All of the tension rods are clean and all parts operate perfectly. The nickel over brass triple flanged rims show a little wear. There is some damage to the top rim from years of rim shots. The white marine pearl is in excellent condition with a nice amount of mellowing to its color. A new Evans batter head and original Ludwig Weather Master head complete the drum. This is great sounding vintage snare drum that will look great behind any WMP WFL or Ludwig outfit.
