Description Specification

This is a beautifully preserved customized “Super Classic” WFL outfit from the late 1950s. This "attic find" was purchased and played for only a few years before being stored away in cases in a dry environment for decades. The outfit has a rare configuration of 22, 12, 13, 16 with two clipper rail mounts supporting the ride toms and two cymbal arms mounted to the BD shell. The White Marine Pearl wrap is in perfect shape with minimal fading. There are a few faint yellow spots on the drums (see the pictures), but they are hardely noticeable. A good cleaning might eliminate these. All drums have a clear mahogany interior with no date stamps and clean, original, WFL badges. All the nickel plated hardware is original and in "as found" condition. The nickel plating is in beautiful condition so a thorough cleaning would restore its bright finish if desired.

This complete outfit includes 14" x 22" bass drum, 8" x 12" ride tom, 9" x 13" ride tom, 16" x 16" floor tom, original hi-hat, original Speed King BD pedal, original external WFL muffler (not pictured), two bass drum mounted L-arms (one is a period correct replacement), original foldout bass drum spurs, and original floor tom legs and mounts. All of the drums are in perfect condition with no issues or alterations. The bass drum and both ride toms still have one original calf head and the floor tom still has both of its original calf heads in place.

The vintage sound produced by last 50's WFL outfits is warm and a perfect match for the music of the era. Outfits in pristine condition like this are rarely found today making this a truly unique opportunity for any vintage drum lover.
