This is a stunning Ludwig Avalon pearl outfit from the early 1930's with sparkling chrome plating. This combination of Avalon pearl and bright chrome plating is unique. Chrome plating was more expensive than nickel back in the 1930's so most drums that we see from this era have nickel plating. Getting both a 28" bass drum and matching Super Sensitive snare with chrome plating is rare indeed. This outfit includes a 5" x 14" Super Sensitive, with both sets of snares, and a 14" x 28" bass drum with beautiful mountain lake scene pained front head with working internal lights. All of the plating and wrap on both drums is in bright, excellent condition. Both snare mechanisms on the Super Sensitive are complete and in perfect working order. At some point in their working past, the snare drum had an internal muffler added and the bass drum had telescoping spurs added. Aside from these useful additions, the drums are original. This set includes the Super Sensitive snare drum and bass drum. The console, cymbals, stands and traps are all offered separately. Combine everything pictured in the attached photos or let your imagination loose and build a unique early 20th century outfit around these beautiful drums.
